Hello good evening and welcome to the last game of matchday three of the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia.
It has been a packed day of football with three games already gone by.
Croatia kick off their World Cup campaign against Nigeria today with an array of stars at their disposal but a disappointing tournament record.
Only once have they advanced from the group stage and that came 20 years ago in France. They won just one of their three group games four years ago.
Nigeria won just once in Brazil but made it to the knockout stages. A win against Croatia will be a huge boost towards replicating their 2014 showing.
Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr has hinted he will revert back to previous formations to help the Super Eagles seal a victory this evening… their poor display against England a fortnight ago would suggest that’s not a bad idea!
“We were trying out different formations but we are going to switch back to the way we played over the last year coming to this World Cup. If we do exactly what we know we can do, to control the game and be aggressive, we can do well.”
A win for either side in this Kaliningrad opener will see them go top of the table after Argentina were held to a draw by Iceland earlier.
Game kicks off at 7pm GMT so stay with us for all the updates.
