Father and trainer of Isaac ‘Royal Storm’ Dogboe, Paul Dogboe, says he is hoping to witness a possible fight between his son and Emmanuel ‘Gameboy’ Tagoe in the future given the interest that possible bout is generating.

Paul, who is preparing his son ahead of their upcoming WBO super bantamweight world title defence against Japan’s Hidenori Otake in Glendale, Arizona, believes with the right financial package, the bout can become one of the finest fights in the nation’s boxing history.

He, however, noted that the Royal Storm would end Gameboy’s boxing career should the bout occur and revealed he spoke to some promoters outside for a possible staging of the much anticipated bout.

In an interview with the Graphic Sports, the senior Dogboe said, “I would love to see that fight with Emmanuel Tagoe because that is what the public wants and we will have to give it to them”.

“This is business and if that fight will revive boxing once again in the country, why not? We are ready for it and I have spoken to some possible promoters to make it happen,” he added.

Meanwhile, the junior Dogboe (19-0, 13 KOs), is looking forward to end proceedings early when he makes his first title defence against Otake (31-2-3, 14 KOs) on August 25 having promised to knock his opponent out.

The 23-year-old Ghanaian will return to the ring four months after dethroning Jessie Magdaleno with an 11th round technical knockout to win the WBO super bantamweight strap on April 28.

“My preparations have been very good and I want to assure Ghanaians that Otake will not last the entire rounds with me. I am going to knock him out to defend my title and for that I’m keen on,” Isaac said.

The 37-year-old Otake will be fighting outside his native Japan for the second time in his career, having lost the first to Scot Quigg in the United Kingdom when he challenged for the WBA belt in 2014.

The fight against Isaac could be his final attempt to wrestle a world title in his 13-year career and would be fired up to give everything to dethrone the champion.
