The Venue Organizing Committee (VOC) for Accra has been inaugurated with a call to ensure a successful hosting of the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations.
The Committee last week outdoored the Cape Coast Venue Organizing Committee and has done same for the second venue at the press conference of the Ministry.
An eleven-member committee comprising six women and five men was sworn into office by the Vice Chairman of the Normalization Committee, Lucy Quist and charged with the duty of coordinating activities within the Greater Accra Region.
The Venue Organisation Committee for Accra will be chaired by Elizabeth Sackey, Deputy Minister for the Greater Accra Region and assisted by 10 other members.
The VOC is responsible, among other things, for planning all venue activities in consonance with the LOC secretariat, planning and supervising security requirements for the tournament.
Mrs Elizabeth Sackey accepted her new position promising to work assiduously with the members and the media to deliver a quality tournament later this year. She further called for immerse support for the Black Queens for a possible Host and Win agenda.
