Bettors would get the opportunity for the first time to place their bet in boxing when Ghana’s lightweight boxer Emmanuel Tagoe popularly known as Game Boy takes on Russia’s Vyacheslav Gusev on January 26 2019. Game Boy used the opportunity to call on the regulators of the game of chance to assist him in the build-up to his fight against the Russian boxer for the World Boxing Organization’s Africa and International Boxing Federation titles.

Emmanuel Tagoe presented two WBO and an IBO belt to the firm.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of the Gaming Commission of Ghana, Kobby Annan who was speaking at the short presentation ceremony their partnership with the upcoming bout will allow bettors to stake their bets in peace.

The Deputy Commissioner said, “When people bet on boxing they must do it the best way and that is where we have our mandate, Act from 2006, 721 of the constitution to make sure that people who bet when Emmanuel Tagoe is fighting bet in a reasonable manner, there shouldn’t be a fight under fight.”

“I am very happy to see these nice titles here, but champions don’t fall from heaven we will help make the champions. Operators will buy in the idea that there should be a responsibility to help people like you and help the boxing industry,” he added.

Mr Annan also advised the boxer to maintain his level of discipline, both personal and sporting discipline.

Emmanuel Tagoe vowed to stop his opponent because he has a track record of knocking out his counterparts in the ring. The pugilist bragged to be the only gifted boxer in the country.

Tagoe said, “I plead with you all to come to the Bukom Boxing Arena on the night to witness what I can do on 26th. I am a gifted boxer because I am the only Ghanaian boxer who never learnt the sport but I have fought well to win 13 titles for Ghana.”
